Van Der Bogart (Boghardij) Harmen Myndertse, came to the province in 1631, as a surgeon in the W.I Company’s ship Eendraght, and was appointed commissary of Fort Orange; he came to a violent death in 1647 or 8. His wife, Gillisje Ciaese Schouw (Swits?), of Zierickzee, after his death, m. Jan Labatie. Ch. Frans, bp. In New York, Aug. 26, 1640; Myndert, bp. In New York, May 3, 1643; Lysbeth, who m. Harmen Janse Knickelbakker.&lt;br /&gt;

Van Der Bogart (Uyt Den Bogaardt), Myndert Harmense, gunstocker, 1689, trader, 1692, resided on the south side of Yonker Street (State) west of Pearl, about 1686, he removed to Dutchess county where in company with Robert Sanders, he obtained a patent of land one mile square including the site of the present city of Poughkeepsie one half of which he mortgaged to Abraham De Peyster, of New York, for 116-6-6(Pounds). Van Der Bogart, Nicolaas, tailor, of Jerico, Albany district, corporal in the first New York Regiment, having served “faithfully” 7 y. and 3m. received a bounty of 600 acres of land from the state of New York. He m. Margarita Fiensburgh, Dec. 29, 1782. Ch: Catharina, b. May 23, 1784.&lt;br /&gt;
